| Valencia Test 27:11:2003 Day Three of Three | |
For the
BMW WilliamsF1 team the third day of testing in Valencia saw them not the
outright fastest on the track, this went to McLaren's David Coulthard
driving the new McLaren MP4-19, but the day was successful for the team as
they continued their developing work for next season. The
team was greeted by warm conditions which allowed the drivers to work
through and extensive test schedule. Present at the circuit were Ralf
Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya, and test driver Marc Gene. All three drivers were to focus on different aspects of the test programme. The day would finish with the drivers down the list of times, compared to their successful first two days of testing. Both Juan Pablo and Marc were able to improve on their earlier times set on Tuesday and Wednesday. For Juan Pablo his day was spent working on suspension developments. He would complete fifty two laps with a best time of 1m:10.021. Ralf Schumacher, who had been the fastest on Wednesday, focused on tyre testing, completing sixty nine laps with a best lap time of 1m:10.601, good enough for fourth. Marc Gené was fifth. He would work on the traction control systems, which included several practice starts. he would complete eighty seven laps, setting his fastest lap of this week’s test so far with a time of 1m:11.013. Marc was able to use the new P84 engine. |
