| In the
Thursday Press Conference at the US GP Juan Pablo was asked about the
rumours that have him leaving WilliamsF1 to join McLaren. Even though he
made it clear that he expects to be driving for WilliamsF1 in 2004 he did
not commit himself to anything beyond next year.
The stories have Juan Pablo
looking to get out of his current contract with WilliamsF1 to join McLaren.
Juan Pablo said: 'First of all, I have a Williams contract that goes to '04
... after that I'm a free agent. As far as I know I'm driving for
Williams next year.'
Montoya's desire to move is based on the reports that he is far from happy
with the financial situation at the team with Ralf
Schumacher earning nearly three times as much money as him.
As for if it was the case that he was trying to get out of his WilliamsF1
contract Juan Pablo did little to dispel the rumours by replying "Not
really" when questioned if he was looking to get out of his contract. |
