Dernie rejoins WilliamsF1

In a move to improve the performance of the FW25 WilliamsF1 has employed former WilliamsF1 designer Frank Dernie. Dernie was previously with the company fourteen years ago. After his departure Dernie was involved with the Ligier, Benetton, and Arrows teams.

When he was previously with the WilliamsF1 team Dernie was involved in working as an aerodynamic assistant, establishing the team’s wind tunnel and later designing their active suspension.

His new role at WilliamsF1 will see him assume the role of special projects engineer. His main focus will be on improving the FW25 after the cars difficult start to the 2003 season.

Whether hie arrival will see an immediate improvement in the performance of the FW25 will be interesting to see.
