Dutch GP: FP2 and more work for Williams Racing

Team Summary:
The second Friday practice session for the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix would be delayed briefly but with the start there would be a rush of drivers coming out. Raikkonen would be first out followed by the whole field except for Vettel whose car was still been repaired. There was a mix of hard and medium tyres with both Williams cars on the hard. With the first times coming in it was Bottas quickest with a 1m:11.664 from Hamilton and Leclerc. But Hamilton would be forced to stop with a loss of power. The session would be Red Flagged as a result. With the restart both Haas cars were out first followed by more drivers.

As drivers started to set more times Ocon would go second but Verstappen would take this spot behind Bottas. Hamilton had now dropped to fifth with Leclerc now fourth. The Williams cars were now 19th and 20th. Sainz was now sixth followed by Stroll, Giovinazzi, Vettel, and Perez tenth. Wee would see a Williams on a soft tyre run moving into 11th. The second Williams was also out on a soft tyre run. More drivers were coming out on tehs oft tyre as we saw Ocon fastest with a 1m:11.074 from Bottas and Verstappen. Alonso was now in third ahead of Gasly and Verstappen. The top five times had all been set on the soft tyre. But the session would again be Red Flagged as Mazepin would spin and end up in the gravel.

The session would restart and Verstappen would go into third but we would see Leclerc quickest with a time of 1m:10.902 followed by team-mate Sainz. Ocon was now third followed by Bottas, Verstappen, and Alonso sixth. The Williams drivers were currently 18th and 20th with ten minutes remaining. Vettel was now in tenth having been able to get back out onto the track. Both Williams cars had been on longer runs but would pit as the session came to a close. The tope ten would be Leclerc, Sainz, Ocon, Bottas, Verstappen, Alonso, Gasly, Norris, Giovinazzi and Vettel tenth. The Williams drivers would remain in 18th and 20th. It was a tough session for the Williams team. Hopefully pace can be found overnight.

George Russell:
George would follow his team-mate out also using the hard tyre. George would set a slow 1m:37.081 but there was a lot of traffic to contend with. he would pit with the Red Flag and after the restart would quickly return still on the hard tyre. He would set a 1m:14.386 to be 17th but he would pit after just three laps. After a stop in his pit he would finally return with thirty five minutes remaining this time on the soft tyre. He was currently 20th. A 1m:12.855 would see George 14th then 15th as he pitted after a three lap run. George would return again on the soft tyre. He would drop to 20th and slowest. He was on a longer run on the soft tyre. He would pit switching to the hard tyre as the session drew to a close. He would return just after a single lap and he would return to complete a practice start on the grid with the end of the session.

Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would come out for his first run in the session using the hard tyre. His first time was a 1m:15.115 to be 15th. he would pit with a Red Flag and after the restart was back out being one of the last drivers to come out. He would drop to the bottom of the times with forty minutes remaining. He would finally return this time using the soft tyre. He would set a 1m:12.610 to be 11th. He would drop to 14th as he pitted after a six lap run. With the restart from the Red Flag Nicholas would return again on used soft tyres. But after just two laps he would pit again returning on the hard. On the hard tyre he was now in 17th and on a longer run. He would pit after a 13 lap run and would return to complete a practice start from the grid.
