Team Summary:
After an encouraging FP1 the Williams Racing Team they would commence their
FP2 as a rush of drivers came out on a mix of medium and hard tyres. Leclerc
was and early quickets with a 1m:17.076 followed ny saniz and Stroll. On the
hard tyre the Williams drivers after being higher up would drop to 16th and
18th. Bottas was able to use the medium tyre to go quickest with a 1m:16.468
but Hamilton would move ahead with a 1m:16.277 also on the medium tyre.
Sainz was now third followed by Verstappen, Leclerc, Tsunoda, Perez, Ocon,
Giovinazzi, and Norris tenth. Gasly was now in second using the medium tyre
as we had Verstappen pull off the tarck with a failure at the rear of the
car. He was out of the session which was not a promising thing for therest
of the weeeknd.
Ricciardo was now eighth and Norris tenth with forty five minutes remaining
in the session. Both Williams drivers were back out using the soft tyre.
They would finish their laps being 12th and 17th. Both Ferrari's were out on
the soft tyre and Leclerc would go fastest but his time was deleted. Bottas
was now fastest with a 1m:15.551 from Hamilton but both had used the medium
tyre for their times. Sainz was now third followed by Gasly, Tsundda, and
Giovinazzi. The Williams drivers were currently 10th and 15th with both back
in their pits. Both Mercedes cars were on teh soft tyre but did not improve
their times after their first flying laps. Vertsappen's car had been
recovered and was back in his garage bwith twenty suix minutes remaining.
Hamilton would improve on his secind run but remained behind Bottas. THird
was still Gasly from Sainz, Leclerc, Perez, Tsunoda, Norris, Giovinazzi, and
Stroll tenth.
Everyone except the Haas drivers were out on longer runs. The Williams pair
were on the hard and soft tyre and both drivers were on longer runs as the
session drew to a close. In the final minutes we would have Leclerc crash
while on a long run on the medium. He would tell his engineer that he was
pushing. This would see the session Red Flagged and with only a few minute
sremnaining the session wiouyld efefctively come to an end. With the end of
the session Bottas would remain fastest from Hamilton, Gasly, Sainz,
Leclerc, Perez, Tsunoda, Norris, Giovinazzi and Stroll tenth. Again an
encouraging performance from both Williams drivers especially from Nicholas
who in both Friday sessions seemed to have the edge on team-mate George.
George Russell:
George would be the first driver out in FP2 running on the hard tyre. George
would set a 1m:22.939 to currently be fifth. But as more times were set he
would continue to drop down the times. But a 1m:19.777 would see him seventh
dropping to tenth. This would become 17th despite a 1m:18.648 from George.
George would pit after a six lap run. With jsut over forty minutes remaining
George would return this time on the soft tyre. He would set a 1m:17.884 to
only manage 17th. But George would improve with a 1m:17.378 to be tenth but
would drop to 13th. George was down in 15th but had been on the radio to his
engineer seeming unhappy with his tyres complaining about overheating.
George continued to lap having completed eight laps on teh soft tyre. With
twenty five minutes remaining George was back out again on the soft tyre. He
had set a 1m:17.179 but was now 16th pitting and returning on the hard tyre.
With six minutes remaining he had completed eleven laps. With a Red Flag he
would pit having completed thirteen laps and he would remain in ghis pit.
Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would be a bit later coming out in FP2 also on the hard tyre.
Nicholas would set a 1m:22.020 to be 15th. Nicholas would improve with a
1m:18.802 but was only 18th. A few laps later he would set a 1m:17.735 to be
11th. This was an impressive time as all around him wree times set on the
medium tyre. Nicholas would also pit after a six lap run. Nicholas would
return using the soft tyre. Nicholas was not able to improve ion his first
soft tyre lap. He was currently 12th. Nicholas would set a 1m:16.823 to be
fifth. He would drop to be seventh as others completed soft tyre runs. This
would become ninth and after a seven lap run he would pit. With twenty five
minutes remaining Nicholas was back out this time on the hard tyre. But he
would pit after a few laps returning on a used soft tyre. He was on a long
run and as the session drew to a close he had completed ten laps. With the
end of the session he would complete twelve laps. |
