Team Summary:
The final Saturday practice for the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix would commence
with Fittipaldi in the Haas out first. He would set a 0:56.499 running on the
soft tyre. With five minutes of the session completed he was the only car
running. He would improve with a 0:56.249 with five laps completed. Ten
minutes in and Fittipaldi had completed nine laps as other drivers started
to get ready to come out. Next out would be Norris running on the soft tyre.
Magnussen was next out followed by Vettel. Fittipaldi would pit as
Ricciardo and Raikkonen came out. Norris would set a 0:55.555 to be quickest
followed by Magnussen. Both Williams drivers would now be running both on
the soft tyre. Ricciardo was now quickest with a 0:55.311. Leclerc was now
quickest with a 0:55.253 followed by Ricciardo, Norris, Raikkonen, Ocon,
Magnussen, Vettel and Fittipaldi.
At the front it changed rapidly with Bottas now quickest with a 0;55.010
followed by Verstappen, Gasly, Leclerc, and Ricciardo now fifth. But Russell
would set a 0:55.000 to be quickest ahead of Bottas. Kvyat was now in third
from Verstappen, Gasly, and Leclerc sixth. The Williams drivers were
currently 18th and 19th with thirty minutes remaining in the session. Bottas
was again fastest with a 0:54.880 followed by Russell, Verstappen, Kvyat,
Gasly, and Leclerc still sixth. Bottas would improve with a 0:54.523 as
quite a few drivers started to do runs on the hard tyre.
With twenty one minutes remaining only Vettel was running currently in 17th.
But he would jump up to second behind Bottas. Bottas would return again on
the soft tyre. Bottas would improve with a 0:54.270 as both Williams drivers
returned for their second runs. Russell was now second with a 0:54.664 with
Leclerc now third. Giovinazzi was able to put in a good lap moving up to
third. But Norris was now second behind Bottas now followed by Albon,
Russell, Sainz, and Giovinazzi sixth. But Verstappen would go quickest with
a 0:54.064. Gasly was now third with ten minutes remaining with Norris now
fourth. Ocon was now in forth having been well down the order while the
Racing Points of Perez and Stroll were now eighth and ninth. The Williams
drivers were now 18th and 19th as the session drew to a close.
So with the end of the session the order would be Verstappen, Bottas, Gasly,
Ocon, Norris, Albon, Russell, Perez, Stroll, and Sainz tenth. The Williams
drivers would end the session in 18th and 20th which is very much where
their performance would place them. But once again it likes like the
continued battle between
Williams Racing, Haas and Alfa Romeo continue. Was reported that Fittipaldi
would have to start from the back of the grid due to penalties.
Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would follow his team-mate out also using the soft. Nicholas would
set a slow 1m:10.187 but he would improve with a 0:56.097 to be seventh
dropping to eighth. This would become thirteenth as the session continued.
But with thirty five minutes remaining Nicholas was only 19th. Nicholas
would also puit having completed nine laps on the soft tyre. Nicholas would
set a0:55.403 to be 13th. He would drop to 16th but had complained about
traffic. Nicholas would pit after a six lap run. With four minutes remaining
Nicholas would return for another soft tyre run but this would seem to be
able to do a practice start.
Jack Aitken:
Jack would come out for his first run in FP3 using the soft tyre. Jack would
set a 0:56.479 on his first timed lap. Jack would drop to 14th as more times
were set. But Jack would find a big amount of time to be able to set a
0:55.954 but this would see him currently 15th as the times changed rapidly.
He was now 17th and would pit after a nine lap run. Jack would return and
would set a 0:55.570 to be 15th but would drop to 16th. This would become
19th with just under fifteen minutes remaining. As the session drew to a
close Jack would return for anothe soft tyre run but this was to use the pit
exit to practice a start. |
