The opening Friday practice for the 2020 British GP would be somewhat of an inconclusive one for both Williams racing drivers. It was a hard session to judge in terms of the performances of the Williams pair with unfortunately both were having their own issues. George Russell would finish in 17th and Nicholas Latifi 19th. Both drivers would have soft tyre runs but the later part of the session would see them complete longers runs on the medioum and hard tyre. George would complete a session that would see him on the radio to his engineer complaining about various things from understeer at Turn six through to balance issues in Turn seven and issues with a bump at Turn 16. A lot for the team to work through prior to FP2.
