The opening Friday practice session for the 2020 Hungarian GP would see the Williams Racing Team drivers finish in 15th and 18th. The session would see Nicholas Latifi as high as third early on but as quicker times were set they would drop down the order. Still it would produce a surprise result with Nicholas finishing ahead of George Russell after their soft tyre runs. Overall it was encouraging to again see the Williams drivers mixing it with the likes of Haas, Alfa Romeo and even AlphaTauri.
