Australian GP: Positive start for Williams Martini in FP1
By Andrew Hooper March 24 2017
It would be a positive start to the 2017 Australian GP weekend for the Williams Martin team. Both Felipe Massa and rookie Lance Stroll were able to complete the session with an impressive number of laps as they worked through their programme. Apart from a few rookie mistakes Lance was impressive on his first run in a F1 practice session. Felipe and Lance would finsih in 7th and 13th positions. Quickest was Hamilton.

Martini Australian GP Friday 1st Practice
Team Summary:
The Williams Martini team would see Felipe Massa and rookie Lance Stroll finish
in seventh and thirteenth positions in the opening Friday practice for the
2017 Australian GP. Both Williams drivers would have a productive session
with Felipe and Lance completing twenty eight and twenty nine laps
respectively. It was an impressive opening session for Lance but he would
make a few rookie mistakes that should be corrected very quickly. Lance
would set the first timer of the day so he would briefly be quickest in his
first ever F1 practice session. Felipe's first lap would see him second and
Lance now fifth.
The Williams
drivers would return to the pits after the completion of the first forty
minutes of the session. With the end of the session both Williams drivers
would complete practice pit stops.
Quickest was Hamilton with a 1m:24.220 followed by Bottas and Ricciardo.
