On what would start out as a very wet final practice session for the 2016 Chinese GP the Williams Martini team would see Valtteri Bottas finish in 2nd. He would set his time on the intermediate tyre in the later part of the session where the track was drier. For team-mate Felipe Massa he would finish in thirteenth having only set a time on the full wet choosing not to go out on the intermediate tyre. With more rain forecast having not used this set of intermediate tyres may prove a good decision his Felipe'sa part.

Team Summary:
The Williams Martini team would be greeted by a very wet Saturday morning with heavy rain falling. With the start of the session there would not be the normal sight of cars coming out onto the track. Fifteen minutes into the session the rain would start to ease and both Williams drivers would head out completing a single installation lap. More cars would come out with forty minutes remaining but no times had been set. Thirty minutes remaining and both Williams drivers would return to the track. The first timed lap was a 2m:00.812 from Raikkonen with Felipe second. Valtteri would move into second with Felipe now third.

Both Williams drivers would pit with twenty five minutes remaining. Both Red Bull cars and Vettel were out on the intermediate wet tyre. Both Red Bull cars would pit as Sainz went fastest with a 1m:59.865. Verstappen was fourth seeing Felipe drop to fifth. On the intermediate Hulkenberg was now second, 2m:00.158. Vettel would complete his intermediate lap setting a 1m:57.351 to be quickest. As the track dried the intermediate tyre became quicker with Perez now second. Valtteri and Felipe were seventh and eighth. With ten minutes remaining Valtteri was second and Felipe ninth, with Valtteri's time set on the intermediate tyre. There were quite a few drivers who had not set a time most likely trying to save tyres for qualifying if it is run under wet conditions.

Felipe Massa:
With ten minutes of the session completed Felipe would be seen getting into his car. Felipe would follow his team-mate out also on the full wet tyre. Felipe would also pit after a single lap. After a break Felipe would return to the track again on the full wet. Felipe would set a 2m:02.438 to be second, dropping to third. As others went quicker Felipe would drop to seventh. He would drop to eighth with ten minutes remaining. With five minutes remaining Felipe was now twelfth and looking like he was not going to return to the track. He would finish the session in thirteenth only having done the wet tyre run.

Valtteri Bottas:
Valtteri would be the first car out on the track running on the full wet tyre. He would pit after a single lap. Like his team-mate Valtteri would return to the track with half an hour remaining. Valtteri would move ahead of Felipe with a 2m:01.256 to be second. He would drop to fourth with eighteen minutes remaining. Currently seventh Valtteri would return to the track this time on the intermediate tyre. Valtteri would set a 2m:01.256 on his first intermediate lap. His next lap was a 1m:58.061 to be second. He would pit and would sit out the rest of the session.
