Spanish GP: Bottas 4th for Williams Martini in FP3

The final practice session for the 2015 Spanish GP would see Williams Martini drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa finish in 4th and 7th. It was an uneventful session for the Williams team with both drivers waiting until taking to the track for their hard tyre runs and it would not be until the last 15 minutes before they came out for their qualifyiong simulation runs. An encouraging leadup to qualifying.

Team Summary:
The final practice session for the 2015 Spanish Grand Prix would see the Williams Martini team wait before sending their drivers out. It would be Felipe Massa first out as Ricciardo went quickest with a 1m:29.027 followed by a 1m:28.656. With fifteen minutes of the session completed neither Williams driver had set a time. Raikkonen was now fastest with a 1m:27.330 on the hard tyre. The best FP3 time from 2014 was 1m:25.887. Twenty minutes and into the session no times from the Williams drivers but they would both come out running on the hard tyre shortly after. Ricciardo on the medium tyre would again be quickest with a 1m:27.048.

But Hamilton would go quicker with a 1m:26.965. Team-mate Rosberg would set a 1m:26.777 to move ahead of Hamilton. With thirty minutes of the session complete the Williams drivers were fifth and ninth. With under fifteen minutes remaining both Williams drivers would come out for their qualifying simulations running on the medium tyre. After their first runs Valtteri was quickest and Felipe fifth. But these would change as others went quicker. Rosberg would go fastest with a 1m:26.021 followed by Vettel and Valtteri. Both Valtteri and Felipe would continue on their medium tyres with the pair coming through the pit lane to do a practice start. They would follow this up with practice pit stops for both drivers as the session ended. Valtteri and Felipe would finish in fourth and seventh with Felipe just 0.3 behind his team-mate.

Felipe Massa:
Felipe would come out for his installation lap running on the hard tyre. He would pit after one lap and upon his return he would set a 1m:28.836 to currently be seventh. He would drop to ninth to be 0.852 behind Valtteri. Felipe would follow Valtteri back into the pits being told to lay some rubber down in his pit box. On his first lap on the medium Felipe would set a 1m:27.207 to be fifth, which was 0.525 behind Valtteri. Felipe would set personal bests in sector one and two. He would set a 1m:27.109 but would not move up the times currently seventh. Felipe was fastest in the speed trap with a 329.4kph.

Valtteri Bottas:
Valtteri would take to the track with ten minutes completed also running on the hard tyre pitting after one installation lap. On his first lap Valtteri would set a 1m:28.283 would see him now third behind the Ferrari's. He would drop to fifth but would improve with a 1m:27.768 to be fourth then fifth. Valtteri pitted after a long run on the hard tyre. On the medium tyre Valtteri would go fastest in the middle sector finishing with a 1m:26.682 to go quickest. But he would drop to fourth behind Hamilton.
