Williams F1 driver Pastor Maldonado has spoken of his it is most likely that he will remain with the Williams F1 team in 2014 despite a the fact that the team has had one of their poorest season in recent history.

Pastor joined the Williams team in 2011 having secured the GP2 title the previous year. The second season with the team would see Pastor secure victory at the 2012 Spanish GP. But 2013 has been a struggle for the team with the only points scoring result being a single point for tenth place in the Hungarian GP.

Maldonado said in the Drivers' Press Conference for the Japanese GP." For sure it was a hard beginning of the season and it was quite a hard time for us as a team,"

"We have been working very, very hard - 24 hours a day - trying to improve our performance and trying to do something different to improve the car's performance. At the moment we maybe find some way, but it is not enough to catch the teams that are quite close to us. For sure there is nothing to do, we just need to keep trying until the last race - there are still five races to go.

"We have been quite close - even last weekend - to be in the points, but have had some problem in the last part of the race, but I will keep trying to get some more points before the end of the season and then we will see for next year. At the moment I have a contract and it is looking quite good."
