The second Friday practice for the 2013 German GP would again see both Williams F1 drivers struggle with Valtteri Bottas and Pastor Maldonado only managing 17th and 18th. The rest of the weekend is going to be difficult for the Williams F1 team.

 German GP Friday 2nd Practice

Bottas

The second Friday practice for the 2013 German Grand Prix would commence with a rush of drivers coming out while for Williams F1 Valtteri Bottas would take to the track first followed by team-mate Pastor Maldonado. It was still dry at the Nurburgring as the drivers continued to leave the pit lane. The first time would be
from Chilton with a 1m:36.542. Grosjean would go fastest with a 1m:34.342 followed by Hulkenberg and Valtteri. Only three drivers had yet to come out including both Red Bull's. Valtteri had dropped to fourth with a 1m:35.055 with pastor now fifth, 1m:35.534. Button would go fastest with a 1m:33.646 with Grosjean second and Gutierrez now third. Raikkonen would move ahead of the McLaren with a 1m:33.537 while Vergne was now fourth.

Valtteri and Pastor had dropped to eighth and ninth. Hulkenberg was now third with only Rosberg in his pit. Perez was now fourth followed by Alonso, Ricciardo, Grosjean, Vergne, and Gutierrez. Hulkenberg was now fastest with a 1m:33.519 but both Webber and Grosjean would go faster with Webber quickest with a 1m:32.333. Grosjean was second followed by Sutil and Hulkenberg. Pastor and Valtteri were now thirteenth and fourteenth. Now Rosberg was out on the track as Hamilton moved into second with a 1m:32.749. Massa was now fourth, 1m:33.229, as both Lotus cars pitted. Webber was on a quicker lap setting a 1m:31.790 to be 0,9 ahead of Hamilton. All the drivers were on the medium tyre at this stage as Perez moved up to seventh with a lap time of 1m: 33.304. Vettel would join Webber at the front with Vettel now second.

Pastor had now pitted as Hamilton moved in front of Vettel with a 1m:32.388. Rosberg was now fourth, 1m:32.492, as Vettel improved with a 1m:32.154. Valtteri had also pitted with Pastor and Valtteri now seventeenth and eighteenth. Hamilton was still third but with an improved 1m:32.193. Webber had pitted as Vettel set the fastest middle sector time. The track had now become quite empty as drivers completed their six lap runs. Rosberg would improve to be second with a 1m:32.024. Alonso was down in fifteenth as Vettel pitted. Perez was sixth and Button tenth as the Mercedes cars continued out on the track. Alonso would improve to be fifth with a time of 1m:32.526.

Both Vergne and Chilton had come out on the soft tyre with Chilton improving to be nineteenth with a 1m:34.709. Other drivers on the track were Ricciardo, Alonso and Massa, Sutil, Hulkenberg, and both Williams cars. Webber was back out on softs along with Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg had improved to be thirteenth as Vergne moved up to sixth with a 1m:32.590. Webber would go fastest in sectors one and two. Ricciardo had improved to be fourth with a 1m:32.124. Webber would complete his lap with a 1m:30.874 to be 1.1 seconds ahead of Rosberg. Hulkenberg would also improve to be sixth with a 1m:32.495. Both Force India cars were back out still on the medium tyres. Vergne's next lap would see him go fourth with a 1m:32.055. Webber would again go fastest in sectors one and two. Ricciardo would also find time to go second with a 1m:31.855.

Webber would finish with a 1m:30.683 gaining two tenths over his previous lap. We were thirty minutes into the session while Vettel and Rosberg were out on the soft tyre. Vettel was currently sixth and Rosberg third. Gutierrez was now tenth running on the soft tyre with Vettel now on a quick lap going fastest in sector two. Hamilton was also out on the track as Vettel went fastest with a 1m:30.416. Both of the Mercedes cars were on the soft tyre and were on quicker laps. Both Williams had pitted after their second runs as Rosberg moved into second with a 1m:30.651. Hamilton's lap was a 1m:31.304 to be fourth. Vettel and Webber had both pitted as Van der Gar moved up to seventeenth with a 1m:34.279. Sutil would improve with a 1m:32.060 to be seventh, despite having a big moment coming onto the main straight running wide into the gravel.

Perez was now eighth with a 1m:32.086 as Valtteri returned to the track. Pastor and Valtteri were now nineteenth and twentieth. Massa would improve with a 1m:31.282 to be fourth but was passed by team-mate Alonso with a 1m:31.056. Both were running on the soft tyre. Valtteri was also out on the soft tyre and his first lap would see him set a 1m:32.879 to be thirteenth. Pastor was also back out running on the soft tyre. Both Red Bulls were also back out on the soft tyre. Pastor's first lap with the soft was a 1m:32.880 to be fifteenth while Valtteri was fourteenth. Valtteri had pitted currently in sixteenth. Webber was out on the medium tyre for a longer run. Grosjean was now seventh with a 1m:31.087 while Di Resta went tenth with a 1m:31.797. Grosjean would improve on his next lap with a 1m:30.843. Vettel was out on a longer run on the soft tyre still been fastest from Rosberg and Webber.

Pastor had pitted but the track was still quite busy with thirty minutes left in the session. The drop off for the soft tyre seemed quite a lot while Vettel setting times in the 1m:39s after just nine laps. Pastor was back out on the soft tyre while Rosberg was back out on used medium tyres. Valtteri had also returned to the track with just over twenty minutes remaining but he was on the medium tyre. Only Raikkonen was in his pit but he was joined by Sutil and Vergne. Hamilton was currently tenth and would pit switching to the medium tyres sending him back out. With fifteen minutes remaining the track would see all drivers except Bianchi, who had finished for the day due to illness. Several drivers were running on the medium tyre including both Vettel and Alonso.

Pastor would pit to switch to the medium tyre with just under ten minutes remaining. Webber was able to do twenty laps on the medium tyre with his last lap the fastest showing the durability of the medium tyres. Valtteri and Pastor were still down the order with Valtteri seventeenth and Pastor eighteenth. Webber would finally pit swapping to the soft tyre. Raikkonen would pit for medium tyres as the session drew to a close. He had complained about graining on the soft tyres as Valtteri pitted. The session would come to an end with Vettel still fastest from Rosberg, Webber, Grosjean, Raikkonen, Alonso, Massa, Hamilton, Button, and Di Resta tenth. For the Williams team they were in a disappointing seventeenth and eighteenth for Valtteri and Bottas. The rest of the weekend was looking to be another difficult one for all at Williams F1.

I think is the time for concentrate on 2014 car. In 4 months unfortunatly the team can't understand the design's errors whit this car, and the upgrade didn't close the gap, every race we are back. no sign of improvements.

Hoping for wet race for the rest of the season (Sm106)

Depressing.

Hard to swallow. Painful to watch.

Somebody do something to stop the bleeding and the pain in this team.

radical new package in hungary? I haven't read anything about that (not that I've been up to date with anything that the team puts out recently...)
