March 16 2013

Qualifying for the 2013 Australian Grand Prix was postponed until 11am Sunday as a result of heavy showers hitting the circuit. Q1 was delayed but the following periods of qualifying were put off due to the continued poor weather as well as the likelihood of sunset.

For the Williams team the opening period would produce the wrong result with Pastor Maldonado only managing seventeenth as therefore failed to make the cut. Team-mate Valtteri Bottas would finish in fifteenth.
