FW25 launch January 31

The BMW WilliamsF1 team has announced that the probable date for the launch of its 2003 contender, the WilliamsF1 BMW FW25, as the 31st January. The launch will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.

There has been much discussion as to the design of the new FW25 but as was the case in 2002 Chief Designer Gavin Fisher and his crew have had the responsibility of putting the car together. The team is very aware of the need to make up ground to Ferrari if they wish to challenge in 2003.

The big difference in 2003 will be the fact that the car will not see any input from aerodynamicist Geoff Willis, who left WilliamsF1 in 2002 to join British American Racing. Again the WilliamsF1 chassis will be powered by a BMW V10 engine, in this case the P83.

Once again Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher will be driving for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team. In 2002 they came third and fourth in the drivers' championship and they are both planning to improve on their point scores in the coming season.
