The second Friday practice session for the 2012 Korean GP would see both Williams F1 drivers outside the top ten with Bruno Senna 12th and Pastor Maldonado 18th. Not the result that the team was hoping for but they were confident that there is more pace to come from their cars.

With Valtteri Bottas completing testing for the Williams F1 team in the first Friday practice for the Korean Grand Prix regular Bruno Senna would replace him for the second session. With the start of the session both Bruno and Pastor Maldonado would head out on the soft tyre, with both drivers aiming to use the super soft tyre later in the session. Having not run in the first session Bruno would have to get use to the Korean circuit. Hamilton would be first out in the session and after ten minutes it would be Schumacher fastest, 1m:39.911, followed by Alonso and Di Resta. But shortly after Vettel would go fastest with a time of 1m:39.794, with team-mate Webber third behind Schumacher. For Bruno he would spin at Turns 11/12 but he was able to get his car back onto the track and would continue.

As the session progressed Bruno would continue with the soft tyre and after forty minutes he would be eleventh with a time of 1m:40.464. After spending time in their pits talking to their engineers and with thirty minutes of the session remaining both Bruno and Pastor would take to the track using the super soft tyres. Pastor would try longer runs using this tyre and as the session drew to a close Bruno was in twelfth with a time of 1m:40.089 and Pastor eighteenth with a 1m:41.200. But with the end of the session their positions would remain the same with neither driver truly showing their potential. It was later confirmed that Pastor had an issue with his car that the team were looking into.

With both Williams drivers outside the top ten there would be a lot of work to do overnight for the Williams team. But the team was confident that there was more pace to come from their cars. Fastest in the session was Vettel with a 1m:38.832 followed by Webber, Alonso, Button, Schumacher, Massa, Rosberg, Hamilton, Hulkenberg, and Raikkonen.
