Pastor Maldonado had finished in twelfth in what was very much a data collecting session. With the start of the second session Bruno would set a 1m:42.971 on his first run. Pastor had come out early in the session to complete a short series of laps and with nearly thirty minutes of the session completed Pastor would be sixth with a 1m:39.444 while Bruno had dropped down to be twelfth, despite switching to the medium tyre. Pastor's time would be the quickest he would set during the session and would finish in eleventh. Bruno would finish the session in seventeenth with a 1m:40.678.
