Ralf Schumacher's manager,
Wili Weber, has spoken of his concern as to how the WilliamsF1 team treats
Ralf in comparison to that of team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya. Weber has made
it clear that he is not happy with the situation for Ralf with Juan Pablo
been made the team favourite. In
an interview for the magazine "Sport Bild" Weber expressed the view that
Montoya was the only WilliamsF1 driver to be on the receiving end of
“protection” from WilliamsF1 teams management. Weber said: "Ralf has a driver beside him who was hailed as a hero and a future world champion after just three races by their common boss (Frank Williams)." "I don't think that's right and it's not ideal for Ralf. Williams are now protecting only Montoya and that's not okay. Weber added: "At Williams there are too many people making decisions." Despite the fact that Ralf was beaten in the final points for the 2002 drivers championship by Juan Pablo Weber maintains that it is Ralf who will be a contender to brothers Michael's position as the top driver in Formula One. "If the car is right, the driver most likely to challenge Michael is Ralf, not Montoya," Weber added. "‘Our goal is quite clear and that is for Ralf to become world champion for BMW-Williams before his contract (with Williams) expires in 2004." |
