 Williams diffuser within the rules

With the legality of the diffusers of three teams likely to come to a head at the opening race of the 2009 season Williams Technical Director Sam Michael has spoken out saying that his team’s rear diffuser design is within the regulations.

Sam MichaelMichael is amazed how those complaining did not think of the idea themselves. In an interview for The Mirror Michael said: "Our team is very much within the regulations. I don't know what the fuss is about."

"People are complaining rather than putting their hands up and saying, 'We didn't think of it because we weren't looking at the rules hard enough'."

Whether the Williams team is to see their diffuser protested at the Australian race is yet be to seen but Michael is confident that the FW31's diffuser is legal. One can only hope that the matter is resolved quickly.
