Rosberg fifth in opening Monaco Practice

On the opening day of practice for the 23008 Monaco Grand Prix the AT&T Williams team would have mixed results as their drivers finished in varied positions. The results would support Kazuki's view that "I think Monaco will be a big challenge for me."

Nico Rosberg would finish in an encouraging fifth fastest time but team-mate Kazuki Nakajima would struggled finishing the session in fifteenth. Nico was to set his time early in the session.

At the end of the session it would be Kimi Raikkonen who as fastest from the McLaren's of Hamilton and Kovalainen. The session was interrupted by a 16-minute long red flag period to attend to a loose drain cover on the hill out of Sainte Devote. Several drivers would hit the barrier during the session, including Trulli and Heidfeld.
