"[H]e does not appear to be a waste of time" -- ok, now that's my kind of compliment!
Assuming SFW is including McLaren in last year's top 4 (which judging from past interviews, I'm sure he is), it seems he thinks 5th in the WCC is what Williams will be fighting for. That's sensible, though even fifth will be tough trying to maintain the pace of development of Williams's immediate competitors with the resources they can throw at it, and do so without compromising 2009.

I think that by "top 4" he meant top 4 drivers...not top 4 teams...
“I felt as though I was driving in a tunnel. The whole circuit became a tunnel... I had reached such a high level of concentration that it was as if the car and I had become one. Together we were at the maximum. I was giving the car everything - and vice versa.”
-Ayrton Senna

That's probably a more reasonable interpretation of what he said, but for the sake of curbing expectations let's pretend it's the other interpretation.

Yeah, agree with Serie-1. I think he's referring to drivers.
He's not closing the door on Williams coming in third.

Formula One is never easy; it’s not supposed to be easy, so to think that we’re going to sail in to third place in the first few races is pie in the sky. If we do, it’ll be a tight fit

Patrick Head
Williams have impressed during winter testing with their new car, and team co-owner Patrick Head admitted they are hoping to give Ferrari and McLaren a scare in some races.
"We don't really target any particular team. We are just trying to do the best we can. Ferrari won the championship last year so they are the target," said Head.
"Obviously I would be disappointed if we cannot get in and give the odd Ferrari and the odd McLaren a fright during the year. But both of the teams seem to be in very good shape for the start of the year.

Q. And lastly, what are your predictions for the season ahead?
FW: I think the first four places are most likely to be occupied by the same people as last year, sadly. But I do think it will be a brilliant racing season.

Thanks for interview....I think he was refering to 4 drivers (2 teams)...anyway, so far, I think majority of us are against that Nico2 thing...I was one of optimistic ones cause he was a Weber driver but so far, he was terrible...btw maybe he's not ready for that, needs more experience to show some pure pace.

How about this one: "but I hope that we will be an honest and able competitor"? Last words for ron?

The first three constructor places were occupied by the same people last year. Places 7th and 8th were occupied every race by different people and teams, so I definitely think that he means drivers and not teams.
