The AT&T Williams team would return to testing after the end-of-season break after the Brazilian Grand Prix. The team returned to the Circuit de Catalunya for a three day test. The team will be working hard on preparing for the 2008 season which will see a range of changes including the removal of traction control. The team would run two cars at this three day test in Barcelona this week with Nico Rosberg and newly-appointed race driver, Kazuki Nakajima, in the cockpits of the interim FW29Bs. Kazuki would finish the day ahead of team-mate Nico with a best lap time that would see him in eighth. Nico was down in eleventh.
Williams F1 Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford commented: "The AT&T Williams team were back on the race track today for the start of winter testing. In preparation for his first full season in Formula One having been confirmed as a race driver for 2008, Kazuki Nakajima joined Nico Rosberg in the two car test. The pair, driving interim FW29Bs, opened the winter programme with a constructive first day concentrating on component development. Neither car suffered any major faults, and both drivers will return to the track tomorrow."” |
