WilliamsF1 driver Mark Webber would finish 7th in the second Friday Practice session for the 2006 German GP. Team-mate Nico Rosberg would fail to make an appearance during the session most likely as a result of his earlier accdient. After been fastest Alex in the first session Alex was down in 16th.

German GP Friday 2nd Practice

With the start of the second Friday practice session at the Hockenheimring we would have a wet circuit with rain having hit the circuit. Robert Kubica would be the first out followed by MF1's Christijan Albers. With the rain having stoppe3d the drivers were on intermediates. Mark Webber would come out for his first run. Mark would complete his installation lap and pit while Villeneuve would come out. Alex was also out on the track as the track started to dry.

WebberVilleneuve would pit after a slow lap while team-mate Nick Heidfeld took to the track joined by Anthony Davidson and Jarno Trulli. Alex would start a timed lap and would finish with a time of 1m:30.383. He would improve his time with a 1m:29.520. This time was some twelve seconds off his earlier practice time. On his next lap he would again lower his time with a 1m:28.407. Alex was the only driver on the track with fifteen minutes of the session run.
The next driver to come out was Winkelhock in his MF1. Again Alex would improve, this time with a 1m:27.774. The track was certainly starting to dry as Alex trimmed extra tenths of his time with a 1m:27.114.

Winkelhock was on a timed lap and would move into second with a 1m:27.924. Alex's next lap was 1m:26.448. He had now completed nine laps as Winkelhock returned to his pit. Again Alex would improve with a 1m:25.142. Ralf Schumacher would complete an installation lap as Alex remained on the track. After several more laps Alex had lowered his time to be a 1m:23.944. The next lap it would be a 1m:23.699. The next driver to come would be Honda's Anthony Davidson.

Winkelhock was also back out on the track as Alex would finally pit after completing fourteen laps. With twenty five minutes of the session run the session had been very quite with everyone looking at waiting for a drier track. Davidson would move into second with a 1m:23.874. But it would be Winkelhock who would go fastest with a time of 1m:20.762. Doornbos would make his first appearance of the session. Winkelhock would improve with a 1m:20.205 as Davidson returned to his pit. Anthony was quickly back out as Torro Rosso's Neel Jani also took to the circuit.

FW28Monteiro was also out as Doornbos's first timed lap would see him fastest with a 1m:19.724. Kubica and Albers were also out on the track. Doornbos would lower his time with a 1m:18.611 as Jani moved into second, 1m:20.064. But Davidson would move ahead of him with a time of 1m:19.178. Alex was back out joined by Barrichello. The first of the Super Aguri's, Takuma Sato, was out as Kubica went fastest with a 1m:18.194. Michael Schumacher and Scott Speed had taken to the track. Barrichello moved into sixth as Raikkonen came out. He was joined by Button, Klien, and Yamamoto. Jani would pit as Michael's first lap would see him move into second, 1m:18.528. Davidson and Doornbos were third and fourth. Michael was on a quick lap going fastest with a 1m:16.917. Kubica was second from Davidson, Barrichello, and Doornbos. Button's first lap would see him second, 1m:17.895.

Villeneuve, Liuzzi, and Coulthard had all taken to the track. Kimi's first alp would see him second, 1m:17.040. Alex was down in eighth and neither Nico or Mark has come out with twenty minutes remaining. Michael's time was now a 1m:16.502. Both Michael and Kimi would pit. as Massa and De la Rosa came out for their first laps. Button was in third. Alex would improve his time to now be in fifth, 1m:18.164. But Massa would move into fourth pushing Alex into sixth. Klien was in seventh followed by Davidson.

Alonso would make his first appearance of the session as Mark returned to the track. Massa would improve to be third, 1m:17.205. De la Rosa was in thirteenth, just behind Coulthard. But Pedro's next lap would see him in fourth with a 1m:17.516. He and Massa would pit. Mark had yet to set a time as Fisichella came out leaving just Nico to take to the track. Alex was now in seventh. Mark's first times lap would see him in eleventh, 1m:18.333. But on his next lap his time of 1m:17.344 would see him in fourth. Alonso was down in eighth, 1m:18.082. Kubica would return to the top of the times with a 1m:16.225. Mark was now in fifth and Alex eleventh. Nico was still in his garage.

WurzFisichella was down in eighth and team-mate Alonso tenth. Mark would pit with ten minutes left in the session. There were now just six drivers running as Trulli moved into ninth, 1m:17.844. The Sauber's of Heidfeld and Villeneuve were down in twentieth and twenty second places. Michael was back out joined by team-mate Massa as Kubica pitted. Button was now in seventh. Team-mate Barrichello was in sixteenth. It was looking more likely that Nico would not come out in the session. Both McLaren's were also out on the track.

Davidson would move into sixth and Barrichello moved ahead of Button and into eighth. Both Renault's were back in their pits. There would be a rush of drivers as the session neared a close. Alex was out on the track but was down in fifteenth. Both Mark and Nico remained in their garages. Doornbos would set a quick time moving into third, 1m:16.626. Mark was now in seventh. Alex had completed a massive thirty five laps during the session. With the end of the session there were twenty four drivers out on the track. But there would be little change with Kubica still fastest from Michael, Doornbos, Raikkonen, Massa, Davidson, Mark, de la Rosa, Barrichello and Button making up the top ten. Nico sat out the session, more than likely as a result of his earlier accident.
