Martin Brundle’s grid walk before each Grand Prix is one of the high spots of the ITV coverage of Formula 1. Today, off camera, Martin asked some pointed questions of Tom Walkinshaw about the team’s future.

The TV commentary was discussing the return to the German Grand Prix of Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who appeared to have stalled on the start grid. James Allen then branched off into talking about the many rumours that have been circulating about the deals to save the team, finishing with Craig Pollock’s supposed interest in returning to Formula One through a deal involving Arrows.

Co-commentator Brundle then said, “I asked Tom Walkinshaw on the line, have you sold the team? Is it true, the rumours that the team have been sold? He said, no it has not. I said, then why are they saying that? He said, don’t ask me, I’m not the one saying the team has been sold.”

Unfortunately there was no information as to when the team’s future will be sealed, but Heinz-Harald Frentzen, in an earlier quote this weekend, believed that the deal will be done sometime in August.
