Pollock no longer denying Arrows team link

Since Tom Walkinshaw temporarily solved the team’s cash crisis last weekend, there have been many rumours about who is likely to either buy into or invest in the team for the longer term. Ex-BAR boss, Craig Pollock, keeps being linked with such a move.

Several F1 news sites are re-running their speculation stories today because of a small quote obtained by the BBC. In previous quotes Pollock has always denied that he is linked with a deal, but more recently he is now simply refusing to comment. This, the BBC believes, is the first real sign that Craig is indeed linked with an investment deal of some sort that could seal the team’s long term future.

“I’ve seen and heard the stories myself,” Pollock confirmed to BBC Sport Online, “I’m off to America right now, and I don’t really know what to say about it. I can’t say anything.”

Aside from Pollock, the other name continually mentioned alongside stories of a similar nature is Red Bull drinks magnate Dieter Mateschitz. The energy drinks company invested in the team at the beginning of 2001, and Mateschitz has made no secret of the fact that he would like to build an all American F1 Team.
