Niki Lauda gives Arrows until Friday to pay up

Despite the team being in dire need of a break, Ford’s Premier Performance Division head, Niki Lauda, has said that the team have until Friday morning to come up with $4.5million to pay for engines to compete in the British Grand Prix.

“I did all I could to help but I have to look after the interests of Cosworth,” said Lauda at Silverstone. “If he pays the money to me then he will race - and I would like to see him race.”

Lauda insisted that he would not accept payment after the weekend, though. “We’ve done that thing in the past and he still hasn’t paid.”
