Sauber struggling to accomodate Jos Verstappen

Since OrangeArrows and Jos Verstappen suddenly parted company in February, speculation has raged about what the Dutchman would do next. The strongest indication has been a development drive with the Swiss Sauber team, with added rumours that he'll replace Felipe Massa within 3 races.

Team boss Peter Sauber has quickly rubbished these rumours, confirming to the British press that Massa's seat is completely safe.

"Jos is only supposed to be our reserve (driver)," Sauber told Autosport magazine.

Jos Verstappen has already visited the Sauber factory in Hinwil, Switzerland on two separate occasions for seat fittings. Stories quickly circulated that the team have been experiencing difficulties in accomodating Jos into the C21 chassis. In his interview with Autosport, Peter Sauber has ruled out making any changes to the design of his cars as that would involve expensive crash tests to pass FIA regulations.
