Campos Cockpit passes FIA homologation

Despite rumors that the Campos Meta team won’t make it to the grid for 2010, the FIA have inspected the car and came to the conclusion that it is of a good standard. This is great news for Formula One fans all around as the sport attempts to fill the gaps left by outgoing manufacturer outfits.
Technical director Toni Cuquerella said that the cockpit is the crucial part of the homologation process: "The homologation of the cockpit is a critical point that defines the status and quality of a Formula One car."
"The fact of having our cockpit completely homologated puts us in a privileged position and allows us to keep on developing the car."
The inspections were carried out in Parma, home to Dallara who are currently designing the Campos car and Cuquerella thinks they have done a good job: "Dallara has done a great job in order to have everything on time and pass all the tests on the first attempt. We still have to pass the homologation of the rear structure which follows the same process and has already passed our previous internal tests."
The results of the FIA's tests have created an upbeat atmosphere in the Campos Meta team. They have already confirmed that Bruno Senna will be driving the Dallara designed car in 2010 and are well on their way to erasing any doubts that they won't make the grid on March 14th.
Team principle Adrian Campos said that the results of the homologation were satisfying: "It's great satisfaction to pass these homologation FIA tests. It shows the technical strength of the partners and suppliers we have gathered for our entry in the Formula One."
"I want to thank Dallara for the compromise shown in the task of fulfilling the original schedule. We still have a long journey in front of us but at this stage we are confident that we will be able to cover all the steps needed to make it with guarantees to the inaugural weekend of the season in Bahrain."
Completely Campos Meta has every reason to believe that the team will be involved in the 2010 Formula One. They have confirmed a driver and had their cockpit approved so the early signs are good
There is still the question of who will be partnering Senna in the Spanish outfit but there is no word on that yet. Completely Campos Meta will keep you updated as soon as anything is announced.
