Emilia Romagna GP: Encouraging Friday for Williams Racing

Friday practice for the 2025 Emilia-Romagna GP would see the Atlassian Williams Racing Team come away with encouraging results with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz finishing the day in 9th and 10th positions. At one stage we had both cars leading FP2. But with the introduction of a new C6 soft tyre the team was not able to extract the best performance from this tyre and as a result dropped down the times. So it is going to be importnat for the team to understand why they did not get the best from this tyre in FP2. So much of the rest of the teams opportunities for the race will come down to getting the best from the C6 tyre in qualifying. Having said that the team was happy with the drivers performance on the medium.  Emilia-Romagna

Alex Albon:
"Not bad! The track feels awesome to drive, it’s always fun to come to Imola. That being said, we’re struggling a little bit with the softer compound of tyres. The C6 is new this year and it takes a little bit of learning. Congestion on the track isn’t great either but honestly, the car’s feeling pretty sensible around here. So far, so good!

Carlos Sainz:
"Good Friday here in Imola. In FP1 on Soft tyres we were quick, but in FP2 we need to understand why we didn’t extract the maximum out of that tyre. On Mediums however, the balance felt very good, so we need to work to understand the C6 and get ready for Qualifying. Track position is important here in Imola, so we need to find a bit of pace if we want to be in the mix."
