In what is the
final test of 2008 the AT&T
Williams team returned to the Jerez circuit for a further three days of
testing. On the first day test driver Nico Hulkenberg would complete the
test schedule, on a cold but sunny day. Early in the day the track was damp.
The
team would continue their set-up work, including aero optimisation and slick
tyre development in preparation for the 2009 season. Nico would continue to
use the modified FW30B this week.
On his first day back in the cockpit for a some time, Nico clocked the fifth
fastest time of the session with a 1:20.704 and covered 442.8km of the
4.428km circuit.
Williams F1 Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford commented: “Nico Hulkenberg
started our three day test in Jerez this week and continued work on our
winter development programme. Despite a damp track this morning which
restricted our time on track, Nico completed 100 laps of tyre testing and
had no technical issues. Kazuki takes over the FW30B tomorrow for the
remaining two days of the test.” |
