For the AT&T Williams team the final practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix was a session that would produce mixed results. Nico Rosberg would finish in an encouraging ninth while Alex Wurz was way down the order in nineteenth. Nico has shown that he has the pace to produce a good result but Alex continues to struggle to get the best out of his FW29. Fastest in the session was Hamilton.

 Spanish GP Saturday Practice

With Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz finishing Friday practice in seventh and fifteenth places the team expressed their confidence that everything was going to plan. Saturday's practice session would give the team an indication if they are heading in the right direction. The hour long Saturday practice session would see a rush of drivers all coming out to complete their installation lap, including Nico and Alex. Both Toyota's would return to the track, joined by both Spyker's.

They were joined by all the front runners except Trulli. It was reported that Fisichella's absence was due to an ECU problem on his car. With just under thirty minutes left in the session Kubica would return to the track. He was joined by Heidfeld.

Coulthard would come out and set an impressive third fastest time, 1m:22.143, before he returned to his pit. Massa was back out. Nico's quick lap would see him move into ninth, 1m:21.953, as the session came to an end. Alex was still in nineteenth. Hamilton was fastest but was not able to improve his time. Kovalainen and Fisichella were in tenth and eleventh.

The order was Hamilton followed by Alonso, Kubica, Heidfeld, Coulthard, Massa, Raikkonen, Davidson, Nico, and in tenth Kovalainen.
