With only 30 minutes to run on track the Sunday warm-up is always full of cars on track and both Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were on track in the first moments of the session for their installation laps. Barrichello is taking his first chance to use the spare car as Schumacher looks quite bored at not having that task today! Blue skies above Hockenheim and the temperatures are set to rise dramatically this afternoon.

Barrichello is making good use of this the two chassis’s available to him as he jumps between his race car and the T car just to compare the two of them and make sure all is well in case the spare car is needed. Rubens is the first of the Ferrari duo to put in a decent lap time with a 1 minute 18.417 seconds to go fastest so far, but once again before he was settled into that position Michael Schumacher goes faster with a 1.17.774.

The 2002 world champion continues to lap, once again running a little wide at turn 12 as he enters the stadium section, a corner that has proven very difficult for all drivers over this weekend. Schumacher however continues to improve and drops his lap time down to 1.17.462. Rubens is also improving on his earlier times and has now set a lap of 1.17.734. 10 minutes to go in the session and Montoya is finally allowed to take to the track, and once again the Williams is looking very strong in sector 2 but not on the same pace as Ferrari in the final section. Hopefully this advantage will not remain in the race, as sector 2 includes some good overtaking possibilities.

5 minutes to go and the Ferrari duo are still lapping the circuit and once again Michael is running a bit wide, this time on the final turn into the pit straight and losing what would have been a faster lap. Giancarlo Fisichella moves into first place with the session coming to an end and Panis jumps into second as Ralf Schumacher also suffers another spin. Ferrari were soon back at the front as first Barrichello does a 1.17.240 but then it was Michael who took the lap times to a new level with a 1.16.726. 13 laps for Schumacher and 16 for Barrichello as very look very strong for the race ahead.
