Burti tests new Maserati

Ferrari's test driver Luciano Burti started the track development of the Maserati Cambiocorsa Trophy car at Fiorano on Thurday. The car made its debut at 11.30 local time with Burti driving until 18.30. The Brazilian covered 50 laps of the Italian circuit, with a best time of 1.26.605.

"My impression? It is great to drive this car," said Burti afterwards. "We worked step by step on the car today, making adjustments and adding some components, like the rear wing, without any particular problem. This is an important development phase of this car but I can say that we already are at a good level."

Testing continues on Friday, again with Luciano Burti at the wheel.
