Michael Schumacher says the title is not yet over and he is damn right it is not over, why not? Because we want more, he wants more and the team want more. This season we can destroy the opposition and that’s what we want.

2001 was a walk in the park for Michael Schumacher, with only the incapable David Coulthard the main challenger then Michael won the title with very little effort and he won with the highest ever margin in history, and that record we want to see broken again this season. 2002 was supposed to be different they said, it was supposed to be the year of Williams and the oh so mighty BMW power, how wrong they were, and how funny it is.
Ferrari had their fame they said, Ferrari had done all they could, they could not beat the F2001, wrong wrong wrong. Ferrari have destroyed the opposition even with the F2001 they beat their newest cars, and when the F2002 was unleashed then it was over, wins in Williams tracks such as Brazil, Imola and Austria has proved to that Ferrari not only improved a little this year but stepped up to a whole new level.
Williams and BMW and their drivers have been nothing more than a let down to their fans and to the hype surrounding them pre-season. Remember that media hype after they won in Malaysia and when we were told we were witnessing the Schumacher beater Montoya in action, well they have not won a race since, and still Montoya has 1 race win to his name. Pretty pathetic when you consider the so called great equipment he has had at his disposal in his Williams career. Last season saw the Williams being the fastest cars on the straights, Ferrari noticed this and reacted, but they did not react in haste nor did they sacrifice reliability for power, as Martinelli said at launch day, ‘The engine is sufficient to achieve our goals’ and that it is doing. As Schumacher said, you only need a tenth to win the race, stretching your limits is a sure fire way to failure ask Williams and BMW about failures and stretching.
Canada was once again a Williams track, but they struggled throughout and took pole thanks to Michelins having the best qualifying tyre as they did in Monaco, but the race pace of the Ferrari’s was way beyond the challenge of Williams and there powerful engines looked weak, and proved to be unreliable into the bargain. Michael Schumacher did what he had to do and came home 10 points richer than his so called rivals and now has a 43 point lead, while the Williams duo realise that Coulthard is just 1 point behind them now in fourth place, dramatically showing how bad Williams are doing this season.
Ferrari’s 150th GP win will kick start the 2002 season celebrations, but we want more and the team want more. We want Schumacher to win at least 10 races this season to beat the record of 9, we want Rubens to kick into action and take the second position in the title, we want Ferrari 1-2’s all the way home to Japan, and with Ferrari working as hard as every then we might just get it all, and more.
Our rivals made the grave error of underestimating our desire to remain at the top, and now they can be left in no doubt of how they are not in the same class as the Scuderia, they are years behind the Ferrari team, and nothing is going to change for a long time.
