A 1-2 finish at the Scuderia’s home circuit sent the attending Tifosi wild with joy. Michael Schumacher finished the F1-2002 in 1st place at the Autodromo Enzo & Dino Ferrari, Imola today, with Rubens Barrichello, who was competing in his 150th Grand Prix, close behind in 2nd. This leaves Schumi clear on top of the drivers championship, and Ferrari on top of the constructors championship.

Barrichello was using the F1-2002 in an actual race for the first time, and also got his first points of the season. Ferrari’s pit strategy was almost flawless, but Rubino did loose about 6 seconds due to a damaged hammer gun incorrectly threading the wheel.

Final Result

1. Michael Schumacher, Ferrari F1-2002
2. Rubens Barrichello, Ferrari F1-2002
3. Ralf Schumacher, Williams FW24
4. Juan Pablo Montoya, Williams FW24
5. Jenson Button, Renault R202
6. David Coulthard, McLaren MP4/17
