Michael Schumacher could have equalled another record yesterday if he won the Hungarian GP for winning 5 races in a row, but the German driver had more important things on his mind and that was getting the best team result.

The 2002 world champion played the team game yesterday as he pushed Rubens Barrichello from behind all the way but refused to risk the points in going for a risky move on his team mate. Michael Schumacher was delighted with the overall result of the weekend and is glad that the titles are now firmly wrapped up. Schumacher once again paid credit to the work the Ferrari team has done with Bridgestone and knows that their superior tyres are a major part of the Ferrari success.
“We have won the Constructors’ title with four races to go. We knew we would do it, but not when. Now we have done it and done it in style, in the best way possible by finishing first and second,” said Schumacher. “I think our success stems from the intensity and thoroughness of our work. I am happy for the team, for Rubens and also for myself. This fourth consecutive Constructors’ title shows what a fantastic job the entire team has done and how reliable we are. Part of the success is down to Bridgestone and our collaboration with them. The work we do together is intense and of the highest level. I think ours is the first case of such close cooperation between a constructor and a tyre manufacturer and I am proud to be part of that relationship.”
As for 2003 well it could be more of the same or more harder for Ferrari according to Michael. He knows that F1 changes quickly and that there is no guarantee that 2003 will be another successful year, but he hopes it will be!
“In sport there are positive and negative times. We have seen a Williams era and a McLaren era. I hope that ours lasts as long as possible.”
