With the teams backing and the help of his team mate Michael Schumacher then Rubens Barrichello believes that he can secure the runners up position in this years championship. But the Brazilian who is relaxed after his holiday in Brazil knows he cant rely on others and needs to be doing it himself.

“I have all the team right behind me and second place would also be good for the Constructors’ Championship. Michael has said he is happy to help me,” said Rubens. “But most of the work I will have to do myself, staying calm and concentrated and I will be doing my utmost to succeed.”

Qualifying tomorrow will play an important part in the race on Sunday and every driver knows this, so a good grid position is a key area this weekend. After dominating in Friday practice it looks like Bridgestone has an advantage over the Michelin tyres, but no matter what the battle for the front row will be as tough as ever predicts the Brazilian.

“Today’s conditions suited our tyres perfectly, as they work very well in cooler temperatures and on a slippery track,” explained Barrichello. “But it will be tougher tomorrow. Williams had a quiet Friday. Maybe they did not run that much fuel and wanted to hide some of their potential. I hope it won’t be too hot tomorrow. We have to make sure we don’t have a repeat of Monaco, because this is another track where pole can be of vital importance.”

Drug testing in Formula One is not a new thing and Barrichello has no problems in undergoing any tests, but he is a bit surprised that anyone could take a drug that would make then drive faster! “It won’t be a problem if it happens,” said the Ferrari man. “But I don’t actually think there are any substances which can make you drive better.”

Flooding in Eastern Europe has dominated the news headlines this week and Michael Schumacher has made a healthy donation to the victims fund raisers and Barrichello will follow suit.

“I know Michael is making a donation and I would be happy to do the same,” concluded Rubens. “These type of events make you realise that your life can change very quickly and that you can suddenly go through difficult times. Therefore, no one can remain indifferent to what is going on.”
