Michael Schumacher aims to round off his 2002 title in style by helping Ferrari to their fourth consecutive constructor’s title as well as doing all he can to help his team mate Rubens Barrichello. Barrichello lies 4th in the drivers standings but only 5 points separate him from 2nd place and Juan Pablo Montoya. Ferrari can secure the constructor’s title this weekend by scoring at least the same number of points as the Williams team.
"After the short break that Formula 1 has granted all those involved I feel fresh and hungry for the remaining races this season, which I can drive without any pressure.” Said Schumacher. "I almost get butterflies all over again when I remember the Hungarian Grand Prix. The race there last year and gaining the world championship title were unforgettable events.”
Michael knows that winning wont be easy as it never is but he is confident that the team will do a good job this weekend. Qualifying here is like Monaco and one of the key areas to get a good result. But Ferrari and Michael have shown in the past that qualifying does not have to determine your race, a aggressive strategy of multi pitstops can see success as we well know.
"With regard to the race - qualifying is of course particularly important, as it is practically impossible to overtake on the course. This can, however, sometimes be cancelled out by clever strategy, for example by having several pit stops. In this way it is sometimes possible to overtake after all. We have done a good job of this several times already, in particular in Hungary."
