Jordan Fans Online has asked for Jordan to comment on a number of issues. We wanted to know straight from the horses mouth any truth in respect to the recent stories surrounding Honda and Giancarlo Fisichella. Jordan Fans Online scoop's all and get the replies that matter.
JFO:
There’s a rumour doing the rounds that Sauber have approached Giancarlo to
replace Nick Heidfeld next season. Has Giancarlo or his
management discussed this with the team? Is there any truth to say that
Giancarlo has a get out clause if Jordan loose the Honda engine?
Jordan:
It is very difficult for us to respond to every rumour that internet sites
generate. Suffice it to say that we have a long term contract with Fisichella
and his manager has already stated that he would only ever leave Jordan if he
were (a) free and (b) offered a drive by a Championship winning team. Neither
applies in Sauber's case.
JFO:
Can you say anything about the situation with Honda? Many sites including ITV-F1
are saying that Jordan will be running without them onboard next year. I
certainly understand if you can't comment on this story 'cos it is a biggy!
Jordan:
The rumours have come about because of media speculation concerning lack of
performance by both Jordan Honda and BAR Honda in the early part of the season,
and also an interview given by Mr Fukui from Honda in which he stated they were
examining all options. In our current issue of J Magazine Eddie confirms the
above and reiterates that both Jordan and Honda are looking at every way to
become more competitive in future.
Jordan are clearly keeping mum about their engine deal but as I said, it's a big issue and I didn't expect a detailed reply. Chances are, we'll find out very shortly with respect to Honda's decision.
