Power Dominates At The Glen

Despite having won the Pole for each of the five previous editions of the Camping World Grand Prix At The Glen, a Team Penske driver had never actually won the race - until yesterday. Series points leader and race pole-sitter Will Power lead forty-five of sixty laps, and proved once agian that he is the man to beat on the road & street courses.
“I wanted it really bad; I really wanted to win,” Power, said afterwards. “I can’t stand when you’re the quickest in qualifying and then you have a bad race. Honestly, it was the first race that I pushed on every single lap. Never once that I didn’t push."
The victory was Power's third of the season: He is the only multiple race winner so far in the 2010 campaign. Teammate Ryan Briscoe finished second, and Ganassi Racing's Dario Franchitti finished third.

Earlier in the day, J.K. Vernay of France won the Firestone Indy Lights Series support race. Like Power in IndyCar, Vernay is the FIL points leader and the only driver with multiple victories in 2010.
The next IndyCar Series race will be on the streets of Toronto on Sunday, July 18.
