I Want To See A Picture Of This Car!

Two weeks ago the IRL stated that they were still open to the possibility of multiple chassis options for the next generation IndyCar, due out in time for the 2012 season. We now know who the apparent main contenders are. The first - of course - is Dallara Automobili, who are working on an "evolution" of their current IndyCar chassis.
Whether this new Dallara is the car featured in my story from this past May ("IndyCar - The Next Generation?") or not is unclear to me at the moment.
The other top contender, apparently, could be a completely new style of race car.
Ben Bowlby is the head engineer for Ganassi Racing. He is also a former designer for Lola, who's chassis were a staple of the CART/CCWS series. Starting from scratch, Bowlby has drawn up a car that, according to those few who have seen the blueprints & are willing to talk about them, is "a cross between a sports car and a motorcycle".
Indianapolis Star motor sports reporter Curt Cavin has learned that the Bowlby design has recieved considerable - and favorable - interest from other IndyCar team owners. Terry Angstadt, the IRL's commercial division president, told Cavin that the radical design will get strong consideration should it prove to be safe and sufficently inexpensive to purchase and maintain. "It's something we're excited about if it proves to be the things it needs to be. As the sanctioning body, we have to be pragmatic about it."
Hopefully, blueprints and/or models of this potential chassis will be made public sometime in the near future.

If you are referring to the Bowlby car, you can't see a picture/drawing of it yet. It is being kept completely 'under wraps' ATM.
