There is more good news to report on the sponsorship front. The newly revived US F2000 National Championship Series now has a title sponsor. US-based Cooper Tire & Rubber will be that sponsor -and sole tire supplier to the series - when it holds it's inaugural race in 2010. The relationship is contracted to last for at least the next four years.
"Cooper Tire is proud to be the official tire of the USF2000 National
Championship," said the company's motorsports director, Chris Pantani. "We are excited to be associated with (series boss) Dan Andersen and to help
him realize his vision of re-creating the F2000 entry level open-wheel
racing series which has been such a vital step in the careers of so
many young racing talents. We're sure the series will serve many other
young racers to come, and we're pleased to be able to help these
drivers realize their dreams."
The IRL sees the resurrected series has the bottom rung on it's official developmental ladder as it tries to help bring up-and-coming driver talent into the IndyCar Series ranks one day.
