Midland Qualify in 18th and 19th

After the months of preparation and testing, Midland F1 Racing entered a new phase of competition today with the qualifying session for tomorrows Bahrain Grand Prix.

Hoping to banish recent media lashings, the team entered the session hoping to get the cars into at very least the second knockout session of the three qualifying periods.

As seems usual for British Television, ITV focused heavily on the likes of Renault, Mclaren and Ferrari so little was seen of the teams effort. They even failed to get interviews with either Christijan or Tiago after their short qualifying stint.

The team have qualified in 18^th and 19^th places, with Christijan posting the faster time of the two drivers.

The team have much more to come from the car and still have a few tricks up their sleeves that may help in race trim tomorrow. Johnny Herbert being interviewed by Louise Goodman earlier in the coverage hinted at lots more investment when the racing switches to Europe with further developments to come right through the season.

We look forward then to the race tomorrow where we hope that Midland will be able to improve on today’s result and perhaps bring on the success that we know the team will be.
