Narain negotiates to keep Midland F1 seat

2005 Jordan race driver Narain Karthikeyan is fighting for his F1 life today and counting on continued backing from current sponsors. Indian news sources are alledgedly reporting that the only Indian F1 driver is having to talk fast and hard to secure his F1 future.

Only yesterday we reported that Karthikeyan was on a shortlist of three to claim a drive at Midland alongside the already confirmed Christijan Albers.

An item in the Indian publication 'Daily News & Analysis' postulates that to secure the last available 2006 race seats Narain will need to secure the best finances possible out of the current crop of elidgeable drivers. The Indian has been linked to a 'Friday' drive with Williams, but is not giving the game away just yet. "We are still talking, though nothing is certain just as yet," was a commented quoted by him by several internet based sources. He also refused to confirm that he was 'one of three' being lined up for the vacant Midlane drive. "As yet it's all speculation," Narain was quoted as saying.
