Squadra Toro Rosso is about to receive a huge boost in their efforts to escape the back end of the grid. The small Faenza-based squad currently has the least amount of personnel of any team and has been unable to design an all-new car every season like their larger rivals.

This is all about to change as Red Bull grow more serious about their commitment to F1. In a recent interview with Motorsport Aktuell, Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz said, "we are about to double the Minardi design department."

In addition to new personnel of their own, STR could also benefit from RBR's recent acquisition of chief designer, Adrian Newey, who was hired away from McLaren-Mercedes.

"It's not forbidden that Newey can also look at the Toro Rosso car," hinted Mateschitz.
