Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld will keep their fifth and sixth places respectively, claimed at the Monaco GP: Following the race, the FIA had initiated an investigation against McLaren. This investigation has now been closed. .
After the race in the Principality, accusations had been made suggesting that McLaren used illegal team orders. In the event of a disqualification of the team, which had celebrated a one-two victory with Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, the BMW Sauber F1 Team would have moved up in the race classification.
Robert and Nick crossed the finish line for the BMW Sauber F1 Team in positions five and six, thus collecting seven valuable World Championship points. However, since the International Automobile Federation was unable to prove that team orders, which are prohibited by the regulations, had influenced the outcome of the race, the result of the Monaco Grand Prix remains unchanged.
