Villeneuve to race for Renault!

The Renault F1 team has announced today that Canadian driver Jacques Villenueve will race for the team on the upcoming three races left on the Championship. The team came to an agreement earlier on the week to finish their relationship with Italian driver Jarno Trulli after his struggles of late.

Villeneuve has been testing this week for the Renault F1 team and trying to get into grips with the R24.

Renault hopes that the Canadian can help them finish second at the Constructor's Championship:

"We are very excited to welcome Jacques Villeneuve to Renault for the final three Grands Prix of the 2004 season. He is highly motivated and has impressed us with his performance this week. I would also like to thank Peter Sauber for his collaboration in this matter." Said Team Manager Flavio Briatore.

"The Renault F1 Team's objective is now to claim second place in the Constructors' Championship and we are focused intently on doing so." He added.
