The Renault F1 team has just concluded their winter testing and is flying to Australia with a small stop at Tokyo and Korea for promotional reasons. It has been heavy testing during 4 months at 5 tracks covering more than 21000 kilometers.
The team started to test with the R23B with some pieces of the R24. The R23B has covered 14,617 kilometers in winter testing.
Starting in January 20th the team had the chance to combine the test with the new R24. Only one chassis was available until the beginning of February when the team tested with two R24 at Imola.
In total the R24 has covered 6.701 kilometers.
Montagny, testing the R23B, has been the busiest of the drivers covering almost 10.000 kilometers. Jarno Trulli comes second with almost 6,000 kilometers while Alonso has done a bit over 4,600 kilometers of testing.
Renault has conducted tests at Barcelona, Valencia, Jerez, Imola and Silverstone. More than 18,000 kilometers have been covered at the Spanish tracks due to the better weather conditions.
Renault has increased their testing a 160% in comparison to the 2003 preseason in their aim to finish among the top 3 teams in 2004.
