Alonso not expecting more podiums this season!

Fernando Alonso was today at the presentation of the new Play Station game Formula One 2003 and he had a chance to talk with the journalist present at the event. The hype is high in Spain but Alonso wants everybody to understand that results will be hard to achieve on the remaining of the season.

Alonso feels that it will be much harder to repeat his podium places in the remaining of the season:

"Formula 1 can have lots of surprises and there are some races that are important for us but other teams like Ferrari, Williams or McLaren-Mercedes have started to wake up and now it will be harder to be in front." The Spaniard said.

Alonso has a great relationship off-track with his teammate, however, in the track they are both rivals and that could be seen on the last two Grand Prix where he has had difficulties with Jarno on the starts:

"When we are in the race we are rivals but outside from the track we are friends. In the last two starts I have lost out because of him, on the next start I hope to be in front." Said Alonso.

Renault F1 will have an improvement on the engine for Silverstone and some aero improvements but he still things it will tough to fight the big guys:

"We will have an improvement of the engine for Silverstone, but I do not think that has to affect the reliability of the car. What happened in Magny-Cours with the two cars out because of engine problems was a disgrace." Alonso said.

The Spaniard also talked about the incident with Coulthard in Europe and he wanted to finish the controversy:

"We did not talk at Magny-Cours, I think is all set now, both the stewards and Coulthard were happy when they saw the telemetry and they saw we baked at the same time." The Spaniard said.
