Alonso on top at private test!

Spanish Renault F1 Driver, Fernando Alonso, finished on top at today's free practice session. Frank Montagny, making his debut on the R23 finished 6th, two seconds behind the Spaniard.

The Renault F1 team completed a total of 116 laps with Fernando Alonso finishing on top of the sheets with a time of 1.16.709.

Jaguar's Mark Webber finished 2nd 0.3 seconds behind the Spaniard and Alonso's teammate, Jarno Trulli, finished 3rd after completing 50 laps to the Magny-Cours track.

It was an important day for Frank montagny who was testing the R23 for the first time and in front of the whole paddock. He finished 6th after completing 28 laps.
